Step by step
Our on-boarding process caters for businesses that are both new to SharePoint and existing users that need assistance upgrading, changing hosting platform or addressing speed and performance issues.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to upgrade, our SharePoint team will spend time taking you through all these steps, gathering the information required, and implementing as much as we can for you, so you can concentrate on things like content, branding, user adoption, and training.
After you’ve completed a specification workshop, you’ll receive a report without the technical jargon that includes a proposed step-by-step development plan with agreed deliverables and a detailed timeline. We’ll provide a logical overall architecture e.g. farms, web applications, site collections, sites, lists/libraries, navigation, metadata.
If there are any concerns over the proposed plan, they’re tackled at this stage. This sometimes leads to building a proof of concept to ensure the concept will work with the business or perhaps, on a proposed interface such as a touchscreen. This extra step will identify or confirm any perceived risks and mitigate any known risks.
Upgrades and migrations of existing platforms can be as involved as a new platform build depending on the previous version number or customisations involved. There’s also a lot of planning involved to ensure dependencies are managed to allow you to achieve objectives with minimal disruption.
If you’re happy with your existing platform but concerned about performance, then a health assessment is your best option. Not tackling sluggish performance and unusual behaviour will affect your user’s experience and ultimately ruin the reputation of the platform.
Trying to debug these kinds of issues takes a great deal of experience and knowledge of the platform. The Health Assessment service is designed to make use of all igroup’s expertise to resolve these issues quickly.
