MD of igroup, Steve Rastall, is raising money for the British Heart Foundation following the death of his mum, Moira Rastall, in April last year.
Having been asked to support Hope House by joining their weekly lottery, MD Steve Rastall decided to go a step further and donate £500 to this deserving charity.
Hope House offer a range of services, including respite and end-of-life care at the hospices and/or within the family home and support such as counselling.
Bereavement support is offered to all children, young people, family members and others involved with the family.
The Together for Short Lives survey found that in the last two years the average funding each children’s hospice received from the NHS reduced by more than £7000 -a 2 % cut.
The combination of this fall in funding and spiralling costs is hitting the most vulnerable families and their children.
During his visit to Hope House, Steve learnt that over 90 % of its £6.5 million running costs is funded by public support. An additional £2.5 million a year would allow Hope House to reach every child, mum, dad, brother and sister needing help in the area.
Steve Rastall commented, “igroup will look to help this important charity further. It is a very special place and cause.”
