igroup have signed up to the Cycle to Work scheme, offering a saving of up to 42 percent off the cost of a bike to our employees.
After six long weeks of walking, swimming and riding, the igroup team have finally reached their remote office in Quinta Do Lago to raise over a thousand pounds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Over 2950km have been covered!
During these unsettling times, our charity partners need our support more than ever. The current situation puts them in an extremely vulnerable position as a huge portion of their income comes directly from fundraising events such as the London Marathon and other challenge events and races which they have now lost. Now is the time we all need to come together to ensure we can continue to help those most in need.
As well as helping a very worthwhile cause, igroup employees have benefitted personally from the challenge. Having been stuck at home whilst working remotely, they have all enjoyed having a reason to exercise and have all found the challenge incredibly motivating. When you exercise, endorphins are released and start coursing through your system, releasing a wave of positive vibes, which makes everything seem just that bit more manageable!
Along with getting fitter, there have been the added benefits of losing weight and lowered blood pressure. It has also allowed them to take back some control, to keep focused and energised during these unsettling times.
Steve Rastall, MD of igroup, commented, “The team all pushed hard to reach our destination whilst raising important funds for a very worthwhile cause. Well done everyone!”
