25th June 2014
After a whirlwind trip around Britain taking in 12 cities in 16 days, the SharePoint Evolution Roadshow has finally rolled into Dublin for the final day.
In our two and a half weeks on the road, we’ve clocked up more than 1300 miles, a ferry ride across the Irish Sea, and a few nervous moments in front of fairly big crowds at the show.
As we’ve travelled around the country, the igroup team have spoken to around a thousand SharePoint users, and enjoyed some great discussions and seminars about what’s new, what’s coming up, and also, the kind of challenges that are being faced in different industries and different areas of the country.
From a delegate perspective, the key themes of the roadshow have been the upgrade path from SharePoint 2007 to 2013 and the difficulties of getting management buy in for the deployment of new projects that extend SharePoint’s functionality beyond being a simple document storage platform. We’re looking forward to working with some of the people we met at the conference over the next few months.
As part of the conference, we’ve been raffling a Nokia Lumia tablet, and we’ll be announcing the winner early next week when we’re all back in the office.
There’s still a few hours left of the 2014 roadshow – hopefully including a couple of pints at the Temple Bar this evening before we jump on the ferry home.
