igroup ltd has published a white paper examining the need for continuity planning in business and the different potential cloud solutions that are available.
‘Cloud Solutions for Continuity’ looks at the need for businesses to have adequate disaster recovery systems in place in the event of normal business operations being interrupted and the different methods of data storage available for that purpose.
The report notes that a growth in demand for cloud back-up solutions has driven the availability of a number if different cloud storage options, including Dropbox, Google Drive Microsoft’s SkyDrive (soon to be renamed ‘OneDrive’) and Box. It suggests, however, that such platforms may not provide the levels of security or integration required for certain businesses.
The report argues that Microsoft’s cloud offerings, such as SharePoint Online, Office 365 and Azure, provide the simplest integration of cloud technology into the business workflow, as well as being secure and familiar to end-users.
