igroup continues steps towards its green policy by achieving the 2018 goal set out to reshape the fleet, removing all company-owned vehicles which were powered by fossil fuel.
The goal to move to electric vehicles is part of a long-term plan to improve the company carbon footprint. Last year’s move to Sci-Tech Daresbury has enabled the business to achieve this with the science parks latest green addition, adding vehicle charging points on site made available for all businesses based there.
Sci-Tech Daresbury Science Park has many green initiatives in place for businesses to benefit from, such as a car share scheme and ground sourced heat pumps to heat the buildings.
igroup has operated hybrid vehicles for several years as part of its green policy. Steve Rastall, MD, said “Every business has a responsibility to continually reduce its carbon footprint. Over the years we’ve rolled out Skype for business and conference software to reduce travel, moved all servers to the cloud to reduce electric usage, and converted all laptops and monitors too low power usage. The change to Tesla was an obvious step to take to further reduce our footprint and I’m really pleased we’ve achieved that goal.”
