Cost effective Azure backup and recovery services to protect your data stored in the cloud.

As a fully qualified Microsoft Managed Services Partner , igroup can advise and support your business with cloud backup and recovery solutions that will protect your business operations.

Azure Backup is a cloud-based backup solution that offers secure protection for your essential data and helps your business recover more quickly in the event of an application failure or security issue.

The solution is based on the Microsoft Azure Recovery Services (MARS) agent and uses a Backup Service Vault, connected to Azure storage services.  As part of our consultancy progress as you migrate to the cloud, igroup can help configure Azure Backup services alongside Azure Site Recovery so that your data is duplicated across regions for safety and to facilitate disaster recovery.

The Azure Backup solution allows businesses to backup and restore data from virtual machines and will back up data including files, folders, system states, app specific data, fileshares and machine configurations. By being able to recover these quickly organisations can significantly reduce downtime and business disruption.

Make Azure Backup part of your business continuity planning

Protecting your business operations with Azure Backup

Backup and disaster recovery are a critical element in protecting your business operations, but it needs to be configured and managed correctly so that it works as expected in the event it is needed. Because Azure Backup is native to Azure it needs expert knowledge to maximise its benefits.

Avoid business disruption and take control of your contingency planning with Azure Backup

Azure Backup provides access to several built-in security features including alerting, incident prevention, and recovery. Incident prevention enables you to apply an authentication layer to ensure that only permitted users can access backups. Alert features mean you can set up email notifications for events that affect backup availability and recovery features enable you to restore backups that have been accidentally or maliciously deleted.

With so many options available on Azure it provides three different types of backup which can be used depending on your business requirements. These are:

  • Full Backups: A complete copy of your data is made and stored in the cloud but this takes up a lot of storage space.
  • Differential Backups: This backs up data that has changed or been added onto since your initial data backup, and then copies and stores just new parts. This takes less storage space but some of your data can still be backed up multiple times.
  • Incremental Backups: It takes up the least storage space and keeps your network running efficiently by storing the blocks of data that have been added or altered since the last time you backed up your data but not the initial backup.

The type of Azure Backup configuration your business opts for will depend on how you operate, your objectives and how data is used by the business. igroup will use their knowledge and experience of configuring hundreds of Azure backup solutions to create a backup plan that is right for your business and ensure minimum disruption in the event of any disruption whilst at the same time keeping costs down.
