Are you using SharePoint 2013, 2010 or 2007?

3rd May 2018

You may not be aware but mainstream support for SharePoint 2013 ended last month on April 10th.

Any business still using SharePoint 2013 will now only be able to get security fixes.  Feature updates and hotfixes will cease halting any improvements in functionality, performance, and stability.  The knowledge base online, which is still available, will also cease updating too.

Have you considered upgrading/migrating?

Some businesses have already made the leap to ensure continued security and functionality, but there are many still out there running older versions.

The Office 365 suite includes SharePoint online and has plenty of new and improved features to benefit from once upgraded.  Here are a few of our favourites:

  • The new app, Flow, is designed to create and manage workflows between almost 200 software applications-both Microsoft and third parties. It offers a simple, code-free interface with a variety of templates to whet your appetite.
  • You can now leverage the Power BI charts and dashboards integrated into your SharePoint environment.
  • Choosing the online version means you only pay for what you need and you remove your businesses infrastructure headaches and cost to maintain. Your subscription runs from month to month meaning you can scale your users as needed.
  • Benefit from the power of Office 365-access SharePoint anywhere, anytime.

Avoiding temptation

It may be appealing to wait a little longer and jump straight to SP2019 but from our experience, it’s likely to cause your business more disruption and incur further cost. Software, more often than not, is designed to move to the next version without thought for future versions.

It’s not as expensive as you might think

We provide a temporary extension of your IT team who are focussed solely on the job at hand with the experience of hundreds of successful migrations across multiple versions.  Typical upgrade and migration planning prices start from £1500 – not bad for peace of mind.
