Software outsourcing refers to taking the development phase of a new application outside the country in order to take advantage of a more affordable workforce. Many developing nations have highly educated citizens but very poor economies. With the increase in internet usage, it is now possible to contract and communicate regularly with people on the other side of the globe. Even small businesses are able to take advantage of customized software with this method, as it is often less than half the cost in labor that would be charged by developers in western countres.Some of the countries with the most active development workforce include India, China, and Russia. Despite language barriers, these companies can operate successfully because programming is done in universal programming languages which can be understood by developers all over the world. That being said, there needs to a reliable contact person in the outsourced company that can communicate effectively—and meet with your company during your business hours—either online or via telephone.
