We have found that customers find Search hard to set up and as a result either do not use it or do not use all the features of which SharePoint Search is capable. An example is a County Council who used to pay £8000 annually to an external search provider because they hadn't the expertise to configure SharePoint Search themselves.

 

With the release of SharePoint 2010 organisations who have existing SharePoint installations can build on that adoption by using the newest version of the product that increases usability and has some excellent new features, including FAST search Server.

 

Every company, whether public or private, needs Business Intelligence to run their business.  By providing some simple scenarios, SharePoint’s BI capability can be explained to the customer during a SDPS engagement. The easiest of these to demonstrate by some simple reports is a business's KPIs.
