Email via PDA.

The communication methods have changed drastically over the last century. Not long ago telegraph was the only way to get in touch with people around the world. Graham Bell invented the telephone and heralded a revolution in the way people communicated. This lead to a transformation in business practices.

But telephone in this modern world is passé. SMS and mobile telephony are the latest inventions. The World Wide Web is the vehicle of modern communication. Is it any surprise that email via PDA is no longer regarded as a luxury but a business imperative?

The other day I went to an exhibition with my laptop. My laptop is fairly new. There was no doubt,as I looked around me,I was out of date. My friends and colleagues would say that’s due to my age!! Ouch! At least that’s how it seemed. My laptop looked dated in front of the sleek mobiles and PDA’s.

With a nifty keypad creating an email via a PDA is a breeze. The main advantage of a PDA is its light weight, small size and sleek looks. It can do all that a laptop can and more. One can have all the office tools which are used commonly like word, excel and even your presentations are easily to hand. With Windows CE, Blackberry and some other system software, it is hard to find the difference between a laptop and a PDA. PDA has the inherent advantage that it is designed for wireless operations. We can email via PDA, send and receive data and do a lot more.

I would call it the ultimate “working girl’s” accessory.
